Point Mallard blows out Dallas, 7-0

The Dallas Jr. Stars had trouble finding ways to stop the Point Mallard Ducks, which beat Jr. Stars, 7-0.

Point Mallard was led by Jake Cox, who racked up one goal. Cox scored on the power play 3:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Point Mallard. The Ducks had gotten the advantage when Dallas' Trent Wolter was sent off for interference. Justin Delisle assisted on the tally.

Point Mallard forced the Jr. Stars' goaltenders to work in net, ripping 38 shots and forcing 31 saves. Chance Turner made 15 stops and Anthony Galliart made 16. The Ducks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Dallas power plays. Point Mallard's defense was surprisingly good. The Ducks allow 3.0 goals per game. Point Mallard bested its season scoring average. The Ducks have scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

Point Mallard additionally got points from Brad Reitter, who also registered one goal and two assists and Justin Dunn, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Point Mallard included Chris Corgan, who had two and Jake Champaign and Justin Provencher, who each put in one. In addition, Point Mallard received assists from Davis Hudson, who had two, Noah Gilreath, who had four, and Josh Hamilton, Jaleel Rosemond, Matt Darnell, and Justin Clark, who each chipped in one.

Dallas was often in penalty trouble, totaling nine minors and one major for 43 minutes in penalty time. The Jr. Stars surpassed its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game. Dallas did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Jr. Stars average 2.4 goals per game.

Point Mallard's Roman Bengert stopped 23 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Ducks totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-8 on the power play.
