West Michigan's Farkas deadly on offense in 3-1 win against Wisconsin

The West Michigan Wolves relied on the scoring touch of Devin Farkas, who netted two goals, to beat the Wisconsin Whalers, 3-1.

Farkas scored at 5:28 into the second period to make the score 1-0 West Michigan and again while 10:29 into the third to make the score 2-1 West Michigan.

West Michigan was led by goalie Hunter Vorva, who finished with 52 saves while allowing one goal. Vorva certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.04 entering the contest.

Wisconsin was unable to stop the Wolves from sending pucks towards the net, and West Michigan eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

West Michigan also got points from Dakota Ulmer, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for West Michigan came via Corey Siwula, Michael Tratar, and Kyle Keeder, who contributed one each.

The Whalers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Wisconsin averages 3.8 goals per game. The Whalers' offense rang up 53 shots on the Wolves' net.

Wisconsin was led by Isaac Hale, who scored the team's only goal. Hale scored on the power play 15:01 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Whalers had gained a power play chance when Siwula was whistled for delay of game. Thomas Hanson provided the assist.

West Michigan incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Wisconsin's Evan Moyse stopped 45 shots out of the 47 that he faced. The Whalers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
