Pena plays catalyst in Billings' 7-2 win against Glacier

Josh Pena was a peerless playmaker for the Billings Bulls, as he dished out five to beat Glacier, 7-2.

Billings forced Glacier's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, launching 46 shots and forcing 39 saves. Nolan Slager made 27 stops and Bailey Aust made 12. The Bulls bested their season scoring average. This season, Billings averages 3.5 goals per contest.

Billings also got points from Torin Foundos, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Cameron Birklid, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Billings also had goals scored by Reed Kaiser, who had three and Ralfs Karelis and Tristan Henrichs, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Billings were Nick Rizzo, Joe Mata, and Ian Wiljanen, who contributed one each.

Glacier managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Glacier ended up below its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game.

Glacier was led by Marvin Simmons, who tallied one goal and one assist. Simmons scored 16:09 into the third period to make the score 6-2 Billings. Tyler McMahon picked up the assist. Glacier also got a goal from Tommy Kaddatz as well. More assists for Glacier came via Jarod Ackerman and Matt Gamblin, who each chipped in one.

The Bulls' Cole Semchak stopped 17 shots out of the 19 that he faced. Billings incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Glacier registered one goal on two power play opportunities.
