The Metro Jets survived a determined comeback attempt by the Pittsburgh Vengeance on the way to a 3-2 win. Metro made the score 3-0 on a goal by Jacob Drinkard at 6:31 in the third period, and Pittsburgh got as close as 3-2 when Cody Black scored 18:29 into the third period. The Vengeance's power play was ineffective against the Jets' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Metro stifled Pittsburgh's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jets found themselves short handed often, totaling 38 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays. Metro was helped by Ryan Bloom, who tallied one goal and one assist. Bloom scored 2:05 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Metro. Andrew Sawyer picked up the assist. Metro also got points from Sawyer, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Metro came via Tyler Layle and Devin Kelly, who contributed two each. The Vengeance struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 28 penalty minutes for nine opposing power plays. Pittsburgh was helped by Brennan Osen, who grabbed one goal. Osen scored 9:57 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Metro. Adem Arifi provided the assist. In addition, Pittsburgh received assists from Bryan Hovanec and Parker Henry, who each chipped in one. Jake Stephan rejected 22 shots on goal for the Jets. Brian Baker recorded 12 saves for the Vengeance.
