Glacier beats Bozeman 5-4 after comeback scare

Glacier survived a determined comeback attempt by the Bozeman Icedogs on the way to a 5-4 win.

Glacier made the score 5-3 on a goal by Tyler McMahon at 18:42 in the second period, and Bozeman got as close as 5-4 when AJ Odell scored 10:31 into the third period.

Marvin Simmons and Matt Gamblin provided the spark for Glacier, combining for three goals and four assists. Simmons registered one goal and three assists and Gamblin also notched two goals and one assist.

Glacier excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Glacier's offense rang up 44 shots on the Icedogs' net. Glacier surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Glacier has scored at the pace of 2.0 goals per game during the current campaign.

Glacier additionally got points from Gamblin, who also tallied two goals and one assist and McMahon, who also had one goal and one assist. Glacier also got a goal from Tommy Kaddatz as well. Other players who recorded assists for Glacier were Blake Evennou and Brett LeBeau, who each chipped in one.

Glacier's defense shut down Bozeman's forwards for much of the game, and the Icedogs got off only four shots during the contest.

Bozeman was led by Gunnar Mogck, who finished with two goals. Mogck scored the first of his two goals at 2:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bozeman. Kegan Couture assisted on the tally. Mogck's next tally made the score 2-0 Bozeman with 10:46 left in the first period. Devin Panzeca provided the assist. Kevin Steffey also scored for Bozeman. In addition, Bozeman received assists from Ryan Erickson, who had one and Cole Blatter, who had two.

Glacier incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Icedogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
