The Great Falls Americans survived a determined comeback attempt by the Yellowstone Quake on the way to a 2-1 win.

Great Falls made the score 2-0 on a goal by Dylan Garton at 8:28 in the first period, and Yellowstone got as close as 2-1 when Mike McCullen scored 5:47 into the third period.

The Americans were led by Garton, who grabbed one goal.

Great Falls' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Yellowstone power plays. The Americans' offense rang up 44 shots on the Quake's net.

Brendan Jester also scored for Great Falls. In addition, Great Falls received assists from Arseny Ivanov and Austin Krantz, who each chipped in one.

Other players who recorded assists for Yellowstone were Adrian Maass and Carson Asher, who contributed one each.

Lauren Massie recorded 20 saves for Great Falls. The Americans incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Lance Knudson made 42 saves for Yellowstone on 44 shots. The Quake incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
