Granite City downs Breezy Point, 5-2

The Breezy Point North Stars lost to the Granite City Lumberjacks, 5-2.

Granite City's offense rang up 32 shots on Breezy Point's net. The Lumberjacks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Granite City was led by Michael Orke, who had one goal and two assists. Orke scored 19:48 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Granite City. Will Mix provided the assist. Granite City also got points from Mix, who also registered one goal and one assist. Granite City also had goals scored by Brady Bernhardson, David Kenney, and David Horsmann, who scored one goal each. More assists for Granite City came via Zach Voss, who had two and Tanner Skaja, Travis Kemp, Travis Kothenbeutel, and Dallas Marvin, who each chipped in one.

The North Stars were helped by Seyia Hayata, who tallied one goal. Hayata scored on the power play 19:55 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Granite City. Breezy Point had gotten the advantage when the Lumberjacks' Luke Richardson was sent off for slashing. Ryan Herbert assisted on the tally. Breezy Point additionally got points from Brooke Evans, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Breezy Point received assists from Crosby Steen, who had one.

Kendall Meyer made 21 saves for Granite City on 23 shots. The Lumberjacks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The North Stars' Jaxson Gosnell stopped 27 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Breezy Point incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
