Metro's Drinkard deadly on offense in 6-3 win against CincinnatiSportsPlus Cincinnati Sun, Feb 01, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Jacob Drinkard was all over the ice for the Metro Jets, as he tallied two goals in Metro's 6-3 win over the Cincinnati Swords. Drinkard found the back of the net 1:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro and again while short handed 4:20 into the third to make the score 4-3 Metro.Cincinnati was unable to stop the Jets from sending pucks towards the net, and Metro eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Metro additionally got points from Cooper McLean, who also registered one goal and one assist. Metro also had goals scored by Jacob Gleason, Kyle Shreve, and Cody Jones, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Golov Sergey, Andrew Sawyer, Jake Sealy, and Jason Newel, who each chipped in one and Pearce Vance and Matt Dempsey, who contributed two each. The Swords' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Metro power plays. Cincinnati was led by Hunter Schneider, who tallied two goals. Schneider scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:23 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A tripping penalty on Jacob Rutkoske had put the Swords on the power play. Adam Goudelock picked up the assist. Schneider's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Cincinnati with 6:55 left in the first period. Jake Herrberg assisted on the tally. Blake Hinds also scored for Cincinnati. In addition, Cincinnati received assists from Oliver Ahlberg and Gennadi Zabeline, who each chipped in one. Jake Stephan made 22 saves for the Jets on 25 shots. Metro incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. James Schroeder recorded 25 saves for Cincinnati. The Swords incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
