La Crosse falls to Chicago in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Michael Howard gave the Chicago Junior Bulldogs a 4-3 (OT) victory over the La Crosse Freeze when he scored 1:35 into the extra period.

Howard had a great game for Chicago, netting two goals.

The Junior Bulldogs kept La Crosse's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cameron Scheuren made 34 saves on 38 shots. The defensemen of Chicago were also effective in the Freeze's zone, and came away with two goals.

Others who scored for Chicago included Tyler Seltenriech and Michael Ellis, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Chicago were Scott Schroeder, Toms Taurins, Kyle Barna, Nick Rems, Ryan Maksimovic, and Niko Moulakelis, who contributed one each.

La Crosse's offense rang up 40 shots on the Junior Bulldogs' net.

The Freeze were helped by Augusts Veidenbaums, who tallied one goal. Veidenbaums scored 11:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 La Crosse. Brady Thiering picked up the assist. La Crosse also had goals scored by Blake Olinyk and Daniel Toycen, who each put in one. In addition, La Crosse received assists from Chong Hyun Lee, who had two and Taylor Trapp and Ethan Stafford, who each chipped in one.

Chicago's Troy Pierce stopped 37 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Junior Bulldogs totaled 31 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. La Crosse totaled 29 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
