Maksimovic's hat trick boosts Chicago over St. Louis, 7-4

Ryan Maksimovic lifted the Chicago Junior Bulldogs to a 7-4 victory with a hat trick against the St. Louis Jr. Blues.

Maksimovic got on the scoresheet 9:27 into the third period. He then added goals at 13:10 into the third and at 14:10 into the third.

Chicago kept St. Louis' goalie busy throughout the game, and Cooper Cothran made 35 saves on 42 shots. The Junior Bulldogs found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Chicago has scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during the current campaign. The Junior Bulldogs found themselves short handed often, totaling 54 penalty minutes and allowing five power plays.

Chicago additionally got points from Tyler Seltenriech, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Toms Taurins, who also grabbed one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Chicago included Kyle Barna and Dane Kalas, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Chicago were Andrew Fattore, Noah Carter, Michael Howard, Matthew Adams, Henry Hearon, Nathan Iaciancio, and Nick Rems, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Blues' offense rang up 35 shots on Chicago's net. St. Louis was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 34 penalty minutes.

The Jr. Blues were led by Andrew Bond, who registered one goal and one assist. Bond scored 13:08 into the first period to make the score 2-1 St. Louis. Andrew McGlynn assisted on the tally. St. Louis also had goals scored by Brian Schumacher, Daniel Dunaway, and Adam Havener, who each put in one. In addition, St. Louis received assists from Chris Brown, who had one and Sam Yauch and Cameron McAtee, who each chipped in two.

Sam Harden made 31 saves for the Junior Bulldogs on 35 shots. Chicago registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. For St. Louis, Dunaway was ejected from the game.
