Toledo's comeback falls short, Metro wins 4-2

The Metro Jets, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Toledo Cherokee and clinched a 4-2 victory.

Metro led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Jets' Cooper McLean scored at 8:24 in the second period to put Metro up 3-0.

McLean had a great game for the Jets, netting two goals.

Metro's penalty kill excelled, as the Jets gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Metro also had goals scored by Jacob Gleason and Kyle Shreve, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Pearce Vance, who had two and Golov Sergey, Cody Jones, TJ Krajewski, and Jason Newel, who each chipped in one.

Toledo kept Metro's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kameron Limburg made 30 saves on 32 shots.

The Cherokee were helped by Cam Schwartz, who racked up one goal. Schwartz scored on the power play 12:11 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Metro. An interference penalty on David Chavis had put Toledo on the power play. Dominic Pisanti picked up the assist. Toledo also got a goal from Michael Pisanti as well. In addition, Toledo received assists from David Bogart, Austin Turner, and Nikolas Verbosky, who contributed one each.

The Jets incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Cherokee's Glen Bates stopped 18 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Toledo incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
