Nashville rolls over Dallas, 6-0A-Game Rink 1 Sat, Jan 24, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Dallas Jr. Stars had trouble finding ways to stop the Nashville Jr. Predators, which beat Jr. Stars, 6-0. Nashville was paced by Trent Kulczyk, who registered one goal and one assist. Kulczyk scored on the power play 6:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nashville. The Jr. Predators earned a power play opportunity when Travis Hall was put in the box for hooking. Matiss Gelazis picked up the assist. Nashville's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and one major for 49 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 17.0 minutes per game the Jr. Predators had been spending in the box. Nashville forced Dallas' goalies to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots and forcing 38 saves. Chris Mallon made 36 stops and Anthony Galliart made two. The Jr. Predators' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Dallas power plays. Nashville also got points from Topi Samuli Aheristo, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Jacob Lainesse, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Nashville included Ben Falk, Colton Anderson, and Alex Durand, who each put in one. More assists for Nashville came via Peter Cabala, Kyle Van Wyk, Nicholas Redmon, and Nick Mammel, who each chipped in one. The Jr. Stars could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Dallas puts an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game. Nashville's defense shut down the Jr. Stars' forwards for much of the game, and Dallas got off only nine shots during the contest. Nathan Klebe recorded nine saves for the Jr. Predators. Nashville registered two goals on four power play opportunities. For the Jr. Predators, Van Wyk and Jon Evans were ejected from the contest. The Jr. Stars incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
