Stephan, Metro blank Cleveland, 6-0

The Metro Jets used a sparkling performance by Jake Stephan to take down the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Metro's 6-0 shutout victory.

The Jets were paced by Zach Koonce, who racked up one goal. Koonce scored 44 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro. Alex Holm provided the assist.

Metro put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cleveland to score on any of its four power plays. The Jets' defensive effort looked to be improved. Metro allows 2.9 goals per game. The Jr. Lumberjacks were unable to stop the Jets from sending pucks towards the net, and Metro eventually piled up 51 shots on goal.

Metro also got points from Cooper McLean, who also had one goal and one assist, Pearce Vance, who also registered one goal and one assist, Devin Kelly, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Matt Dempsey, who also had one goal and one assist. Metro also got a goal from Chas Distelrath as well. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Jacob Gleason, Jacob Drinkard, TJ Krajewski, Jake Sealy, Jacob Rutkoske, and Graham Day, who contributed one each.

Cleveland excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Jr. Lumberjacks could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Cleveland averages 2.5 goals per game.

Stephan rejected 30 shots on goal for the Jets. Metro incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Sam Pikus recorded 45 saves for the Jr. Lumberjacks. Cleveland incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
