Great Falls blows out Glacier, 7-2Havre Ice Dome Fri, Jan 16, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Great Falls Americans were firing on all cylinders against Glacier, and when the final buzzer sounded Americans emerged with a 7-2 win. Lucas Lomax had two goals and one assist to lead Great Falls. Lomax scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 1:48 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Great Falls. The Americans had gotten the advantage when Glacier's Donnovan Dysert was sent off for crossing red line warm up. Robert Kalata provided the assist. Lomax's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Great Falls with 15:55 left in the second period. Dylan Garton assisted on the tally. Great Falls' penalty kill excelled, as the Americans gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Glacier was unable to stop Great Falls from sending pucks towards the net, and the Americans eventually piled up 42 shots on goal. Great Falls surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Americans have scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign. Great Falls additionally got points from Zack Mese, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Wade Wylie, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Great Falls included Lucas Stover and Brendan Jester, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Great Falls were Arseny Ivanov, Marvin Simmons, Erik Gatson, Reed Link, and Cody Page, who contributed one each. Glacier was led by Joshua Larson, who registered one goal and one assist. Larson scored on the power play 1:27 into the second period to make the score 1-1. A cross checking penalty on Miles Giorgione had put Glacier on the power play. Tommy Kaddatz picked up the assist. Glacier also got a goal from Brett LeBeau as well. More assists for Glacier came via Karson Frisk and Blake Evennou, who each chipped in one. Wyatt Monear made 19 saves for Great Falls on 21 shots. The Americans incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Glacier's Ryan Lund stopped 35 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Glacier incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Glacier ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Frisk was ejected from the game.
