Billings downs Yellowstone, 5-2

Ralfs Karelis tallied one point to lead the Billings Bulls to a 5-2 victory over the Yellowstone Quake.

Billings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Yellowstone to score on any of its four power plays. The Bulls kept the Quake's goalie busy throughout the game, and Lance Knudson made 40 saves on 45 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Billings also got points from Bryce Jensen, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Billings included Reed Kaiser, Torin Foundos, and Corbin Emery, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Billings were Steven Thompson and Ian Wiljanen, who contributed one each and TJ Theodosopoulos and Tristan Henrichs, who each chipped in two.

Billings was unable to stop Yellowstone from sending pucks towards the net, and the Quake eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Yellowstone was led by Nick Ligocki, who had one goal. Ligocki scored 13:11 into the first period to make the score 1-1. John Scherer assisted on the tally. Adrian Maass also scored for Yellowstone. More assists for Yellowstone came via Will Landsverk, who had one.

Cole Semchak made 32 saves for the Bulls on 34 shots. Billings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Quake incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
