Glacier holds on for 3-2 win against Yellowstone

The Yellowstone Quake tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but Glacier held on for a 3-2 victory.

A goal by Tyler McMahon put Glacier up 3-1 in the third period, but Yellowstone pulled to within one on Max Doner's tally 19:14 into the third period.

Karson Frisk had two goals and one assist to lead Glacier. Frisk scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Glacier. Glacier earned a power play opportunity when Sean Pilet was put in the box for head contact. Matt Gamblin assisted on the tally. Frisk's next tally on the power play made the score 2-0 Glacier with 6:04 left in the first period. Joshua Larson picked up the assist.

Glacier's offense rang up 34 shots on the Quake's net.

Yellowstone forced Glacier goalie Ryan Lund to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

The Quake were helped by Mike McCullen, who racked up one goal. McCullen scored 9:55 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Glacier. Sawyer Scanlan assisted on the tally. More assists for Yellowstone came via Zach Forrest, who had one.

Glacier's Lund stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Glacier incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Sean Leahy made 31 saves for Yellowstone on 34 shots. The Quake totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
