Miller's goals lift Helena to 2-0 victory over Great Falls

The Helena Bighorns relied on the scoring touch of Brandt Miller, who netted two goals, to beat the Great Falls Americans, 2-0.

Miller scored on the power play at 7:07 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Helena and again while 19:05 into the third to make the score 2-0 Helena.

Grant Martens frustrated Great Falls' offense all game, and stopped 32 shots en route to a shutout. Martens certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.93 entering the contest.

Helena excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Bighorns could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Helena averages 4.1 goals per game. The Americans were unable to stop the Bighorns from sending pucks towards the net, and Helena eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Other players who recorded assists for Helena were Nick Trefry, Brandon Mills, and Johnny Bonta, who contributed one each.

Great Falls did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Americans put an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. Great Falls' offense rang up 32 shots on the Bighorns' net.

Helena incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Lauren Massie rejected 29 shots on goal for the Americans. Great Falls incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
