Tyler Gorniak had one goal and two assists to lead the La Crosse Freeze to a 6-3 victory over the Wisconsin Whalers.

Gorniak scored 16:25 into the first period to make the score 2-0 La Crosse. Taylor Trapp assisted on the tally. Gorniak dished an assist on Anthony Miller's goal that made the score 3-0 La Crosse at 9:41 into the second period. He added another helper on Miller's goal that made the score 4-0 La Crosse at 10:41 into the second period.

La Crosse outdid its season average for goals scored. The Freeze average 3.5 goals per game.

La Crosse additionally got points from Jace Cseter, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Ethan Stafford also scored for La Crosse. Other players who recorded assists for La Crosse were Jared Bromberg, who had two and Jake Lipski, Blake Olinyk, Daniel Toycen, Hunter Smith, Ben Henderson, and Augusts Veidenbaums, who contributed one each.

Wisconsin's offense rang up 45 shots on La Crosse's net.

The Whalers were helped by Thomas Hanson, who registered one goal and one assist. Hanson scored 19:25 into the third period to make the score 5-3 La Crosse. Peter Henderson picked up the assist. Wisconsin also got points from Ryan Martin, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Wisconsin also got a goal from Nolan Kepler as well. More assists for Wisconsin came via Joe Perrelle and Zachary Shenderovsky, who each chipped in one.

Cameron Scheuren made 42 saves for the Freeze on 45 shots. La Crosse totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 3-for-7 on the power play. Wisconsin's starting goalie, Evan Moyse, made 17 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Chris Johansen, who stopped six shots. The Whalers totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play.
