Point Mallard falls to Texas in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Texas Jr. Brahmas pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Point Mallard Ducks on a clutch goal by Mykyta Sheptytsky.

Sheptytsky had a great game for Texas, netting two goals. Sheptytsky scored at 9:11 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Texas and again while on the power play 1:00 into the fourth to make the score 3-2 Texas.

Brock Brown also scored for Texas. Other players who recorded assists for Texas were Jimmy Anderson, Nick Nitta, Devin Pierce, and Sam Gagnon, who contributed one each.

Point Mallard was led by Brad Reitter, who registered two goals. Reitter scored the first of his two goals at 15:54 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Texas. Justin Provencher picked up the assist. Reitter's next tally made the score 2-2 with 10:30 left in the third period. Jake Champaign assisted on the tally. More assists for Point Mallard came via Davis Hudson and Justin Clark, who each chipped in one.

Quinton Reynolds rejected 28 shots on goal for the Jr. Brahmas. Texas incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Ducks took out Cooper Seedott after he had made 10 saves and installed Jonathan Drew Mashburn in goal, where he finished with six saves and the otl. Point Mallard incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
