Lomax leads Great Falls over Bozeman, 9-2

The Great Falls Americans' Lucas Lomax had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 9-2 win over the Bozeman Icedogs.

Lomax found the back of the net 14:18 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Great Falls and again while on the power play 1:04 into the second to make the score 4-2 Great Falls.

Great Falls' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Bozeman power plays. The Americans forced Bozeman goalie Steven Frank to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots. Great Falls outdid its season average for goals scored. The Americans average 3.9 goals per game. Great Falls' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

Great Falls also got points from Arseny Ivanov, who also registered one goal and one assist, Michal Kliment, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Hunter Garris, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Wade Wylie, who also had two goals and one assist. Devin Panzeca also scored for Great Falls. More assists for Great Falls came via Dylan Garton, Zack Mese, Lucas Stover, Austin Krantz, Miles Giorgione, and Malachi Bushey, who each chipped in one and Robert Kalata and Marvin Simmons, who contributed two each.

The Americans' defense shut down the Icedogs' forwards for much of the game, and Bozeman got off only 11 shots during the contest.

The Icedogs were helped by Austin Charnholm, who registered one goal. Charnholm scored 7:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bozeman. Steven Nisbet assisted on the tally. Bozeman also got a goal from Gunnar Mogck as well. In addition, Bozeman received assists from Dalton Rickard, Ryan Erickson, and Kegan Couture, who each chipped in one.

Great Falls' Lauren Massie stopped nine shots out of the 11 that he faced. The Americans totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Steven Frank made 44 saves for Bozeman on 53 shots. The Icedogs incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
