Nashville rolls over Topeka, 6-2Kansas ExpoCentre Sat, Dec 20, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Nashville Jr. Predators had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Topeka Capitals. Colton Anderson was all over the ice for Nashville, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Anderson scored on the power play 5:15 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Nashville. The Jr. Predators had taken the advantage when Topeka's Alex Sauer got sent off for interference. Rudolfs Kalvitis picked up the assist. Nashville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Capitals to score on any of their five power plays. Nashville also got points from Kalvitis, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Nashville also had goals scored by Ben Falk, Jesse Hyde, Trent Kulczyk, and Nick Mammel, who each put in one. In addition, Nashville received assists from Zach Greenwood, Cole Helgemo, and Alex Durand, who contributed one each. Topeka also got a goal from Joe Stoneburner as well. Other players who recorded assists for Topeka were Mike Pedersen, Alex Johanson, and Dylan Wattles, who each chipped in one. Justin Ball rejected 24 shots on goal for the Jr. Predators. Nashville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Topeka's starting goalie, Jacob Pelton, made nine saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Brett Malkmus, who stopped 12 shots. The Capitals ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Topeka ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Johanson was ejected from the game.
