Texas wins tough contest against Point Mallard, 4-3Point Mallard Ice Complex Sat, Dec 20, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Texas Jr. Brahmas and the Point Mallard Ducks were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Texas made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3. Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Chase Deacon's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. The Jr. Brahmas got the win thanks to a great game by Sam Gagnon, who had one goal and two assists. Gagnon scored on the power play 5:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Texas. Texas had taken the advantage when Point Mallard's Jaleel Rosemond got sent off for high sticking. Anthony Koslow assisted on the tally. Texas also got points from Koslow, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Brock Brown also scored for Texas. More assists for Texas came via Nick Nitta, who had two and Jimmy Anderson, Zach McPherson, and Thomas Puetz, who each chipped in one. The Ducks were helped by Justin Clark, who racked up one goal. Clark scored on the power play 15:31 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Point Mallard. Point Mallard had gotten the advantage when the Jr. Brahmas' Anderson was sent off for boarding. Justin Provencher provided the assist. Point Mallard also had goals scored by Jake Champaign and Grant Dukus, who each put in one. In addition, Point Mallard received assists from Brad Reitter, who had two and Justin Delisle and Cooper Seedott, who contributed one each. Tristan Canter recorded 23 saves for Texas. The Jr. Brahmas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Cooper Seedott made 26 saves for the Ducks on 30 shots. Point Mallard incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
