The La Crosse Freeze allowed the Chicago Junior Bulldogs to net four goals during the second period and fell, 7-3.

Tyler Seltenriech and Kyle Barna provided the spark for Chicago, combining for four goals and three assists. Seltenriech tallied two goals and two assists and Barna also notched two goals and one assist.

The Junior Bulldogs pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 59 penalty minutes.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at three seconds into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Chicago forced La Crosse's goalies to work all game long, totaling 31 shots and forcing 24 saves. Andrew Wagner made 18 stops and Cameron Scheuren made six. The Junior Bulldogs bested their season scoring average. Chicago averages 3.4 goals per game.

Chicago additionally got points from Barna, who also registered two goals and one assist, Scott Coash Jr, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Ryan Maksimovic, who also had one goal and two assists. Matthew Adams also scored for Chicago. Other players who recorded assists for Chicago were Henry Hearon, who had two and Noah Carter, Toms Taurins, and Michael Howard, who each chipped in one.

The Freeze forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and one major for 49 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 20.0 minutes per game La Crosse had been spending in the box. The Freeze's offense rang up 49 shots on the Junior Bulldogs' net.

La Crosse was helped by Jack Sterne, who finished with two goals. Sterne scored the first of his two goals at 16:18 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Chicago. Ben Henderson picked up the assist. Sterne's next tally made the score 4-2 Chicago with 9:19 left in the second period. Daniel Toycen assisted on the tally. La Crosse also got a goal from Anthony Miller as well. More assists for La Crosse came via Jake Lipski, Austin Moser, and Taylor Trapp, who contributed one each.

Chicago's Sam Harden stopped 46 shots out of the 49 that he faced. The Junior Bulldogs registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Chicago ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Carter was ejected from the game. The Freeze registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Team's Dan Marotz and Tyler Gorniak were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
