Behind a great game by Mykyta Sheptytsky, who had four goals and one assist, the Texas Jr. Brahmas defeated the Point Mallard Ducks, 5-2.

Sheptytsky notched his first tally 9:04 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:11 into the first, at 7:24 into the third, and at 19:08 into the third.

Texas kept Point Mallard's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cooper Seedott made 29 saves on 34 shots. The Jr. Brahmas found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Texas averages 2.9 goals per game.

Nick Nitta also scored for Texas. More assists for Texas came via Devin Pierce, who had two and Jimmy Anderson, Zach McPherson, Thomas Puetz, Anthony Koslow, Ryan Dunner, and Sam Gagnon, who contributed one each.

The Ducks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Texas power plays. The defensemen of Point Mallard were also effective in the Jr. Brahmas' zone, and came away with two goals.

Point Mallard had gotten the advantage when Texas' Nitta was sent off for tripping. Brad Reitter assisted on the tally. Point Mallard also got a goal from Jakob Hornsby as well.
