Dalesandro's goals lift North Iowa to 4-1 victory over Breezy Point

The North Iowa Bulls relied on the scoring touch of Carmen Dalesandro, who netted two goals, to beat the Breezy Point North Stars, 4-1.

Dalesandro scored at 15:12 into the first period to make the score 2-0 North Iowa and again while on the power play 2:40 into the second to make the score 3-1 North Iowa.

Breezy Point was stymied by North Iowa's netminder Tommi Ahlgren, who stopped 29 shots during the victory. Ahlgren managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.62 prior to the game.

The Bulls' offense rang up 39 shots on the North Stars' net.

North Iowa also had goals scored by Jon Severson and Brett Gravelle, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for North Iowa were Evan Mills, who had two and Johnny Panvica, Ryan Durant, Adam Orn, Austin Jackson, Dylan Zins, and Trey Gardner, who contributed one each.

Breezy Point was led by Joe Costello, who scored the team's only goal. Costello scored on the power play 19:44 into the first period to make the score 2-1 North Iowa. The North Stars had taken the advantage when North Iowa's Zins got sent off for hooking. Ryan Herbert provided the assist.

The Bulls totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Joe Licata rejected 35 shots on goal for Breezy Point. The North Stars totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-1 on the power play.
