The Wisconsin Whalers jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the Chicago Junior Bulldogs, 7-1.

Wisconsin got the win with help from a great game by Peter Henderson, who had two goals and one assist. Henderson scored the first of his two goals at 8:45 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Wisconsin. Connor Morgan picked up the assist. Henderson's next tally made the score 5-0 Wisconsin with 17:10 left in the third period. The Whalers had gained a power play chance when Matthew Adams was whistled for slashing. Nathan Viberg provided the assist.

Chicago was stymied by Wisconsin's netminder Chris Johansen, who stopped 30 shots during the victory. Johansen managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.8 prior to the game.

The Whalers forced Junior Bulldogs' goaltenders to work all game long, finishing with 34 shots and forcing 27 saves. Michael Paku made seven stops and Sam Harden made 20. Wisconsin put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Junior Bulldogs to score on any of their four power plays. The Whalers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Wisconsin averages 3.7 goals per game.

Wisconsin also had goals scored by Ryan Martin, who had three and Michael Tish and Adam Alcott, who each put in one. In addition, Wisconsin received assists from Thomas Hanson, Kaleb Morley, and Isaac Hale, who contributed one each and Will Holtan, Alex Anderson, and Adam Schoenfeld, who each chipped in two.

Chicago could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Junior Bulldogs average 3.3 goals per game. The Whalers were unable to stop Chicago from sending pucks towards the net, and the Junior Bulldogs eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Chicago struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 26 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

Wisconsin incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
