Dallas wins tough contest against Sugar Land, 3-2

The Dallas Jr. Stars gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Sugar Land Imperials.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Blake McIntyre secured the win for Dallas with a goal in the third period.

McIntyre was all over the ice for the Jr. Stars, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. McIntyre scored the first of his two goals at 14:41 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Tommy Estenes picked up the assist. McIntyre's next tally made the score 3-2 Dallas with 12:39 left in the third period. Tyler Valentin assisted on the tally.

Dallas put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Sugar Land to score on any of its five power plays.

Dallas also got a goal from Travis Hall as well. In addition, Dallas received assists from Alex Williams, who had one.

The Imperials kept the Jr. Stars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Anthony Galliart made 46 saves on 48 shots.

Sugar Land was led by John Cuni, who racked up one goal and one assist. Cuni scored 18:14 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Matthew Winkle provided the assist. Frazer Ellis also scored for Sugar Land. Other players who recorded assists for Sugar Land were Ryan James and Tyler Sands, who each chipped in one.

Dallas incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Imperials' Colton Anderson stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Sugar Land incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
