Metro downs Chicago, 2-1

Graham Day racked up one point to lead the Metro Jets to a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Junior Bulldogs.

Cooper McLean also scored for Metro. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Jacob Gleason, Tyler Layle, TJ Krajewski, and Jason Newel, who each chipped in one.

Chicago excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Junior Bulldogs' offense operated below their season average. Chicago puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. The Junior Bulldogs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Chicago was led by Ryan Maksimovic, who scored the team's only goal. Maksimovic scored on the power play 14:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chicago. Toms Taurins picked up the assist.

Stephan Wroe made 17 saves for Metro on 18 shots. The Jets ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For Metro, Newel was ejected from the game. Troy Pierce rejected 18 shots on goal for the Junior Bulldogs. Chicago registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
