Topeka rips Billings, 6-1

The Topeka Capitals had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over the Billings Bulls.

Topeka was led by Hank Roers, who racked up one goal and one assist. Roers scored 18:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Topeka. Steve MacIver assisted on the tally.

The Capitals' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Billings power plays.

Topeka additionally got points from Ben Roth, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Topeka included Alex Sauer and Richard Yusa, who each put in two. More assists for Topeka came via Alex Johanson, Trey Opack, Dylan Wattles, and Colin OConnor, who each chipped in one and Igor Valko and Kyle Rimbach, who contributed two each.

Billings was held below its usual level of production. The Bulls average 3.2 goals per game.

Bailey Aust recorded 15 saves for Topeka. The Capitals incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Billings' Cole Semchak stopped 22 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Bulls incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
