Sugar Land's comeback falls short, Twin City wins 4-2

The Twin City Steel came close to giving away a four-goal lead to the Sugar Land Imperials, but did just enough to escape with a 4-2 victory.

Twin City led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Steel's Mikko Aho scored at 6:22 in the second period to put Twin City up 4-0.

The Steel were sparked by James Hale, who tallied two goals and one assist. Hale scored the first of his two goals at 20:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Twin City. Hale's next tally made the score 5-2 Twin City with 7:28 left in the third period. Jake McGlocklin assisted on the tally.

Twin City kept Sugar Land's goalie busy throughout the game, and Colton Anderson made 48 saves on 52 shots.

Twin City also got points from Jay Paul, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Twin City also got a goal from Alex Egle as well. More assists for Twin City came via Aharon Lara, who had two and David Becker and Jared Erickson, who each chipped in one.

The Imperials stifled the Steel's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Sugar Land was helped by Aksel Campbell, who registered one goal. Campbell scored 18:51 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Twin City. Matthew Jung provided the assist. John Cuni also scored for Sugar Land. In addition, Sugar Land received assists from Matthew Winkle and Alex Tilman, who contributed one each.

Darien Jones made 19 saves for Twin City on 21 shots. The Steel incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Imperials incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
