Point Mallard survives Twin City comeback, wins 4-2

The Twin City Steel tried their best to erase a four-goal deficit, but the Point Mallard Ducks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2.

A goal by Josh Hamilton put Point Mallard up 4-0 in the second period, but Twin City pulled to within two on Russel Barone's tally 15:20 into the third period.

Jake Cox had a great game for the Ducks, netting two goals. Cox's tallies came on the power play at 6:30 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Point Mallard and 9:49 into the second to make the score 3-0 Point Mallard.

Point Mallard forced Steel's goaltenders to work between the pipes, launching 38 shots and forcing 34 saves. Parker Butler made 20 stops and Darien Jones made 14. The Ducks capitalized on the Steel's penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage.

Point Mallard also got points from Jake Champaign, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Point Mallard came via Justin Provencher, who had two and Noah Gilreath, Brad Reitter, Stephen Coulter, Grant Dukus, and Jaleel Rosemond, who each chipped in one.

Twin City's offense rang up 43 shots on Point Mallard's net.

Mikko Aho also scored for Twin City. In addition, Twin City received assists from Mathias Ahman, David Becker, Jon Plaszcz, and Jay Paul, who contributed one each.

Cooper Seedott made 41 saves for the Ducks on 43 shots. Point Mallard incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Steel incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
