Peoria blows out Cincinnati, 4-1Schwan SR-2 Sun, Dec 07, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Peoria Mustangs had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Cincinnati Swords. Peoria got the win thanks to a great game by Nathan Scofield, who had two goals and one assist. Scofield scored the first of his two goals at 4:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Peoria. Austin Wisely provided the assist. Scofield's next tally made the score 4-0 Peoria with 5:39 left in the third period. Andrew Scofield assisted on the tally. Cincinnati was stymied by the Mustangs' netminder Nicholas Piech, who stopped 26 shots during the victory. Piech certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.4 entering the contest. Peoria excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Mustangs kept the Swords' goalie busy throughout the game, and James Schroeder made 28 saves on 32 shots. Peoria additionally got points from Scofield, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Peoria also got a goal from Kai Barber as well. In addition, Peoria received assists from Jack Power Wayvon and Marshall Gevers, who each chipped in one. Peoria incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Cincinnati incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
