The Wisconsin Whalers' Alex Anderson scored 3:53 into overtime to beat the La Crosse Freeze, 3-2 (OT). Wisconsin was led by Anderson, who finished with one goal. The Whalers forced La Crosse goalie Cameron Scheuren to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots. Wisconsin additionally got points from Ryan Martin, who also registered one goal and one assist. Wisconsin also got a goal from Nolan Kepler as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wisconsin were Peter Henderson, who had two and Will Holtan, Connor Morgan, and Austin Lewis, who contributed one each. The Freeze's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Wisconsin power plays. Wisconsin was unable to stop La Crosse from sending pucks towards the net, and the Freeze eventually piled up 46 shots on goal. La Crosse was helped by Hunter Smith, who tallied one goal. Smith scored on the power play 10:10 into the second period to make the score 2-2. The Freeze had gotten the advantage when the Whalers' Caleb Voster was sent off for interference. Blake Olinyk assisted on the tally. Jack Sterne also scored for La Crosse. In addition, La Crosse received assists from Alexander Rickoff, Jace Cseter, and Austin Moser, who each chipped in one. Chris Johansen made 44 saves for Wisconsin on 46 shots. The Whalers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Scheuren recorded 49 saves for La Crosse. The Freeze incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
