The Chicago Junior Bulldogs' Michael Ellis scored 1:24 into overtime to beat the La Crosse Freeze, 3-2 (OT). Ellis had two goals to lead Chicago to victory. The Junior Bulldogs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five La Crosse power plays. Chicago's offense rang up 37 shots on La Crosse's net. Chicago additionally got points from Kyle Barna, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Chicago received assists from Scott Schroeder, Matthew Adams, and Henry Hearon, who each chipped in one. The Freeze put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Junior Bulldogs to score on any of their four power plays. La Crosse kept Chicago's goalie busy throughout the game, and Sam Harden made 35 saves on 37 shots. The Freeze were helped by Taylor Trapp, who finished with one goal. Trapp scored 18:44 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Hunter Dragosh provided the assist. La Crosse also got points from Dragosh, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for La Crosse came via Ethan Stafford, who had one. The Junior Bulldogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Andrew Wagner recorded 34 saves for La Crosse. The Freeze incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
