Rounds leads Cleveland to shutout victory over Cincinnati

Alec Rounds recorded a shutout against the Cincinnati Swords as the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks picked up a 1-0 win.

Tyler Dalton's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 10:36 in the second period. Cleveland had gotten the advantage when Cincinnati's Brett Mory was sent off for checking from behind. Tyler Houmard provided the assist.

The Jr. Lumberjacks' penalty kill excelled, as Cleveland gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Jr. Lumberjacks stifled the Swords' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Cleveland's offense rang up 38 shots on Cincinnati's net.

In addition, Cleveland received assists from Avery Huibregtse, who had one.

The Swords did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Cincinnati averages 2.4 goals per game. The Swords kept the Jr. Lumberjacks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Rounds made 36 saves on 36 shots.

Cleveland totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. For the Jr. Lumberjacks, Brendan Logan was ejected from the game. Brandon Kruger recorded 37 saves for Cincinnati. The Swords ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Cincinnati ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mory was ejected from the game.
