Jon Plaszcz was all over the ice for the Twin City Steel, as he tallied two goals in Twin City's 4-1 win over the Minnesota Flying Aces. Plaszcz's tallies came at 6:56 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 18:03 into the third to make the score 3-1 Twin City.Minnesota was stymied by the Steel's netminder Robbie Goor, who stopped 41 shots during the victory. The solid play of Goor will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.81. The Flying Aces were unable to stop Twin City from sending pucks towards the net, and the Steel eventually piled up 61 shots on goal. The defensemen of Twin City were also effective in Minnesota's zone, and came away with two goals. Twin City also had goals scored by Aharon Lara and Connor Boscaccy, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Twin City were Nicholas Campbell, who had two and Cody Thurman, David Becker, Mikko Aho, and Jay Paul, who contributed one each. The Flying Aces' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Twin City power plays. Minnesota's offense rang up 42 shots on the Steel's net. The Flying Aces were led by Matt Olson, who scored the team's only goal. Olson scored on the power play 2:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Minnesota. Minnesota had gotten the advantage when Twin City's Jared Erickson was sent off for checking from behind. Kenneth Miller picked up the assist. The Steel incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kevin OShea recorded 57 saves for the Flying Aces. Minnesota totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For the Flying Aces, Joshua Malin was ejected from the game.
