Mills' big game bests Glacier in 8-0 Helena win

The Helena Bighorns' Brandon Mills had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing four assists in his team's 8-0 win over Glacier.

Mills beat Ryan Lund with a shot 12:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Helena. Georgy Ostapchuk assisted on the tally. Mills dished an assist on Matt Blassic's goal that made the score 5-0 Helena at 7:14 into the third period. He then added assists on Nick Trefry's goal at 10:37 into the third, on Jay Forbes's goal at 14:11 into the third, and on Forbes' goal at 15:24 into the third.

Helena excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Bighorns forced Glacier goalie Lund to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Helena found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Bighorns average 4.8 goals per game.

Helena also got points from Trefry, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Forbes, who also had three goals and one assist, and Blassic, who also registered one goal and two assists. Helena also had goals scored by Daniel Liberko and Brandt Miller, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Helena were Jamison Westaby, Cody Vanthournout, Brian Skillicorn, and Matt Mohar, who contributed one each.

Glacier's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Helena power plays.

Alex Kruger rejected 18 shots on goal for Helena. The Bighorns ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Lund recorded 29 saves for Glacier. Glacier incurred 38 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
