Jace Cseter was all over the ice for La Crosse, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Cseter scored 1:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 La Crosse. Ethan Stafford provided the assist.

Chicago's 14 penalties came back to haunt it, as the Junior Bulldogs let up five goals while on the penalty kill.

The Freeze's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and one major for 43 minutes in penalty time. La Crosse surpassed its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. The Freeze kept Chicago's goalie busy throughout the game, and Troy Pierce made 36 saves on 43 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.
