Cleveland falls to Pittsburgh in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Gavin Cummings gave the Pittsburgh Vengeance a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks when he scored 4:37 into the extra period.

Cummings was all over the ice for Pittsburgh, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Cummings scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 19:10 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Vengeance had taken the advantage when Cleveland's Patrick Briggs got sent off for holding. Michael Straub assisted on the tally. Cummings' next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Pittsburgh with 15:23 left in overtime. Pittsburgh had gained a power play chance when Tyler Dalton was whistled for checking from behind. Cody Black provided the assist.

The Vengeance kept the Jr. Lumberjacks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alec Rounds made 30 saves on 33 shots. Pittsburgh's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Bryan Hovanec also scored for Pittsburgh. In addition, Pittsburgh received assists from Parker Henry and Eli Lynn, who contributed one each.

Cleveland was helped by Tyler Houmard, who finished with one goal. Houmard scored 5:24 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cleveland. Adam Schaffer picked up the assist. Cleveland additionally got points from Avery Huibregtse, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Cleveland were John Barlow, who had one.

The Vengeance's Jacob Stack stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Pittsburgh incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Jr. Lumberjacks incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
