Great Falls wins tough contest against Bozeman, 5-3

The Great Falls Americans and the Bozeman Icedogs were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Great Falls made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Craig Hayes secured the win for the Americans with a goal in the third period.

Hayes had two goals to lead Great Falls to victory.

The Americans forced Bozeman goalie Steven Frank to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots.

Great Falls additionally got points from Lucas Lomax, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Great Falls included Michael Kliment and Zack Mese, who scored one goal each. More assists for Great Falls came via Dylan Garton and Austin Krantz, who contributed one each and Arseny Ivanov, Marvin Simmons, and Malachi Bushey, who each chipped in two.

The Icedogs' offense rang up 35 shots on Great Falls' net.

Bozeman was helped by Gunnar Mogck, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Mogck scored the first of his two goals at 1:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bozeman. Kegan Couture picked up the assist. Mogck's next tally made the score 3-2 Bozeman with 14:40 left in the second period. Kyler Chartier provided the assist. Bozeman also got points from Couture, who also finished with one goal and two assists. In addition, Bozeman received assists from Coleton Anderson, who had two.

The Americans' Lauren Massie stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Great Falls incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Frank rejected 45 shots on goal for the Icedogs. Bozeman incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
