Miller leads Helena over Yellowstone, 6-1Helena Ice Arena Sat, Nov 15, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Brandt Miller was all over the ice for the Helena Bighorns, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Helena's 6-1 win over the Yellowstone Quake. Miller found the back of the net 11:01 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Helena and again while 11:50 into the second to make the score 3-0 Helena.The Bighorns were led by goalie Grant Martens, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Martens will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.51. Helena forced Quake's netminders to work all game long, racking up 41 shots and forcing 35 saves. Sean Leahy made 19 stops and Lance Knudson made 16. The Bighorns excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Helena also got points from Kendall Bolen-Porter, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Helena also had goals scored by Bryan Knesel, Jarrett Scheibel, and Georgy Ostapchuk, who each put in one. In addition, Helena received assists from Brandon Mills, who had one and Daniel Liberko and Matt Mohar, who contributed two each. Yellowstone also got a goal from Mason Stewart as well. Other players who recorded assists for Yellowstone were Josh Neumann and Max Doner, who each chipped in one. Helena incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Yellowstone incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
