The Dallas Jr. Stars survived a determined comeback attempt by the Point Mallard Ducks on the way to a 3-2 win. Dallas took a 3-1 lead during the second period, only to have Point Mallard storm back on a Noah Gilreath goal 1:42 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Aaron Torres was all over the ice for the Jr. Stars, as he racked up two goals in the win. Tyler Valentin also scored for Dallas. More assists for Dallas came via Blake McIntyre, who had one and Josig Rochon, who had two. The Ducks' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Point Mallard finished with 28 penalty minutes. The Ducks were helped by Justin Dunn, who tallied one goal. Dunn scored on the power play 4:33 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Dallas. Point Mallard had taken the advantage when Dallas' McIntyre got sent off for boarding. Jake Cox assisted on the tally. In addition, Point Mallard received assists from Jake Champaign, Grant Dukus, and Justin Provencher, who each chipped in one. The Jr. Stars' Anthony Galliart stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Dallas incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Cooper Seedott made 17 saves for the Ducks on 20 shots. Point Mallard registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
