Gillette shrugs off penalties, upends Glacier, 4-1

Glacier failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and the Gillette Wild shook off a number of penalties to win, 4-1.

Gillette was paced by Jack Cleaver, who registered one goal. Cleaver scored 3:20 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Gillette. Darren Banks picked up the assist.

The Wild's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine Glacier power plays. Gillette's offense rang up 32 shots on Glacier's net. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Gillette also had goals scored by Austin Tennant, Cade Boreing, and Brandon Beard, who scored one goal each. More assists for Gillette came via Trent Dillinger, Trevor Ruiz, Lance Pennington, Mitchell McEwan, and Kyle Reilly, who contributed one each.

Glacier was often in penalty trouble, totaling 15 minors and one major for 65 minutes in penalty time. Glacier had been averaging 29.0 minutes in penalties per game.

Glacier was led by Karson Frisk, who scored the team's only goal. Frisk scored 19:31 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Luke Dickison assisted on the tally.

Alex Feese recorded 24 saves for the Wild. Gillette incurred 38 minutes in penalty time with 14 minors. Ryan Lund made 28 saves for Glacier on 32 shots. For Glacier, Casey Reamer was ejected from the game.
