Peoria downs West Michigan, 5-2

Mark Candotti racked up one point to lead the Peoria Mustangs to a 5-2 victory over the West Michigan Wolves.

West Michigan was unable to stop Peoria from sending pucks towards the net, and the Mustangs eventually piled up 42 shots on goal. Peoria's penalty kill unit could not stop the Wolves' power play, which converted on two of three opportunities.

Peoria also got points from Nathan Scofield, who also had one goal and one assist. Kai Barber also scored for Peoria. In addition, Peoria received assists from Andrew Scofield, who had two and Marc Peters, Jack Power Wayvon, Chance Homerin, Jason Hoehn, and Austin Wisely, who contributed one each.

West Michigan's offense rang up 36 shots on the Mustangs' net.

The Wolves were led by Devin Farkas, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Farkas scored on the power play 11:12 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Peoria. A tripping penalty on Thomas Kolaz had put West Michigan on the power play. Michael Tratar picked up the assist. West Michigan also got a goal from Dakota Ulmer as well. More assists for West Michigan came via Josh Somers and Corey Siwula, who each chipped in one.

Ross Lipic made 34 saves for Peoria on 36 shots. The Mustangs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Wolves' Hunter Vorva stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. West Michigan incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
