The Billings Bulls' Ian Wiljanen had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-2 win over the Bozeman Icedogs. Wiljanen found the back of the net 4:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Billings and again while 18:36 into the first to make the score 3-1 Billings.Billings racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. The Bulls had been averaging 15.0 minutes in penalties per game. Billings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Bozeman power plays. Billings also got points from Nick Rizzo, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Billings included Reed Kaiser and Alex Lundstrom, who scored one goal each. In addition, Billings received assists from Austin Lange, who had two, Cameron Birklid, who had four, and Ralfs Karelis and Matt Myers, who contributed one each. Bozeman's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and two majors for 44 minutes in penalty time. The Icedogs surpassed its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game. Bozeman was helped by Gunnar Mogck, who racked up one goal. Mogck scored 47 seconds into the second period to make the score 3-2 Billings. Kyler Chartier provided the assist. Thomas Benedict also scored for Bozeman. Other players who recorded assists for Bozeman were Dalton Rickard, Kegan Couture, and Cole Blatter, who each chipped in one. The Bulls' Ray Smith stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Billings registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Denijs Romanovskis recorded 22 saves for the Icedogs.
