Twin City hangs on, beats Breezy Point 2-1White Bear Sat, Nov 08, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Twin City Steel took the lead against the Breezy Point North Stars in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 2-1 victory. Twin City took over the lead for good with a goal by Nicholas Campbell at 19:18 in the first period. Kyle Wagner picked up the assist.The Steel were led by goalie Parker Butler, who finished with 37 saves while allowing one goal. Butler certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.68 entering the contest. Twin City was paced by Campbell, who had one goal. The Steel put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Breezy Point to score on any of its four power plays. Twin City also got points from Wagner, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Twin City received assists from James Hale, who had one and Alex Egle, who had two. The North Stars forced Twin City goalie Butler to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Breezy Point was led by Ryan Mezera, who scored the team's only goal. Mezera scored 1:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Breezy Point. The Steel incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Joe Licata recorded 28 saves for the North Stars. Breezy Point incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
