Pittsburgh outlasts Southern Tier, 4-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Pittsburgh Vengeance escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Southern Tier Xpress.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Leo Blore at 17:16 of the third period.

Pittsburgh was sparked by Blore, who had one goal.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Pittsburgh also got points from Michael Straub, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Pittsburgh included Brooks Antill and Robert Ferrari, who each put in one. In addition, Pittsburgh received assists from Cody Black, Eli Lynn, Jake Salak, and Kenneth White, who each chipped in one.

Southern Tier's offense rang up 31 shots on the Vengeance's net.

The Xpress were helped by Owen Harris, who racked up one goal. Harris scored 2:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Southern Tier. Curtis Carlson provided the assist. Southern Tier also had goals scored by Justin Andriaccio and Brandon Desrosiers, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Southern Tier were Jake Wasem, who had one.

Brian Baker rejected 28 shots on goal for Pittsburgh. The Vengeance incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Southern Tier's Cody Gibson stopped 22 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Xpress totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
