Nashville shrugs off penalties, upends Point Mallard, 6-2A-Game Rink 1 Fri, Oct 31, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Despite having to fight off several power plays, the Nashville Jr. Predators were able to defeat the Point Mallard Ducks, 6-2. Nashville was led by Ben Falk, who had one goal and one assist. Falk scored 5:11 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Nashville. Nickolas Tandeski assisted on the tally. The Jr. Predators put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Point Mallard to score on any of its six power plays. Nashville kept the Ducks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Billy Wager made 34 saves on 40 shots. Nashville also got points from Tandeski, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Topi Samuli Aheristo, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Nashville included Noah Keener, Rudolfs Kalvitis, and Colton Anderson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Nashville came via Matiss Gelazis, who had two and Jesse Hyde, Zach Greenwood, Kyle Van Wyk, Nathaniel Chiarizzio, and Nicholas Redmon, who contributed one each. Point Mallard was helped by Justin Dunn, who tallied one goal. Dunn scored 8:40 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Nashville. Grant Dukus picked up the assist. Point Mallard additionally got points from Dukus, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Point Mallard received assists from Jake Cox and Justin Delisle, who each chipped in one. Nathan Klebe recorded 26 saves for the Jr. Predators. Nashville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Ducks incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
