Wisconsin rolls over La Crosse, 5-0

The La Crosse Freeze had trouble finding ways to stop the Wisconsin Whalers, which beat Freeze, 5-0.

Wisconsin was led by Austin Lewis, who registered one goal. Lewis scored 5:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wisconsin. Connor Morgan picked up the assist.

The Whalers' defense was surprisingly good. Wisconsin gives up 2.9 goals on average per game. The Whalers kept La Crosse's goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Wagner made 43 saves on 48 shots.

Wisconsin also got points from Ryan Martin, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Nathan Viberg, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Kaleb Morley also scored for Wisconsin. In addition, Wisconsin received assists from Alex Anderson, who had two and Peter Henderson, Adam Schoenfeld, and Isaac Hale, who contributed one each.

The Freeze did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. La Crosse averages 3.5 goals per game.

David Volkmann made 23 saves for Wisconsin on 23 shots. The Whalers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Freeze incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
