Glacier falls to Helena in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Brian Skillicorn gave the Helena Bighorns a 3-2 (OT) victory over Glacier when he scored 3:24 into the extra period.

Glacier could not complete its climb out of a two-goal hole. Helena made the score 2-0 on a goal by Skillicorn at 16:34 in the second period. Glacier pulled to within 2-1 on a goal by Tyler McMahon at 11:26 in the third period.

Skillicorn had a great game for the Bighorns, netting two goals.

Helena put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Glacier to score on any of its six power plays. The defensemen of the Bighorns were also effective in Glacier's zone, and came away with two goals.

Helena also got points from Kendall Bolen-Porter, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Helena received assists from Nick Trefry, who had two and Matt Mohar and Blake Babineau, who each chipped in one.

Glacier excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Glacier was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 44 penalty minutes.

Glacier was helped by Karson Frisk, who finished with one goal and one assist. Frisk scored 19:05 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Brendan Jester picked up the assist. Glacier additionally got points from McMahon, who also tallied one goal and one assist.

Mac Alboreo recorded 18 saves for Helena. The Bighorns incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Glacier's Nolan Slager stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. For Glacier, Logan Kraft was ejected from the game.
